  • This Week In Sleaze 33: Tightie Whitie Theatre – The Twist & Crazy Love For You

Let’s talk some fucking justice…Danny Lee style. It’s one of the fascinations of Danny Lee’s cop movies, Cat III or not, when he clearly muses on how justice is achieved, how information is squeezed out of suspects and there’s probably half a dozen movies where he or his OCTB gang are pretty much torturing their victims. Be it in Organized Crime & Triad Bureau, The Untold Story and here in his own directed The Twist where Simon Yam gets the hose.  Also, Simon Yam is a nutter, psycho AND stalker in Crazy Love For You where he may or may not get his dicky shot off. Jackie Chan double bill-time. Diving deepier into the Police Story-series, cast & crew return another fireworks display of stunts, fights and on set injuries and for the third entry, things get quite enormously larger and Michelle Yeoh is added to the series in impactful fashion. With Kenny B & Tom K-W. Click image or link below to access the show!

  • Japan On Fire 18: Sabu – Dangan Runner & Postman Blues

We are starting a new series on a particular figure out of Japanese cinema. I don’t know of many so I pick the ones I know and years ago I was recommended checking out the work of Sabu. I responded well, put down the fandom but now that there is a podcast series on Japanese cinema I’m involved in, it’s a good op to pick up where I left off/revisit what I liked in the first place. That is to setup that for a couple of episodes we’ll be talking of director Sabu and for this episode his first two movies: Dangan Runner from 1996 and Postman Blues from 1997. With me Kenny B and VCinema‘s Coffin Jon. Click image or link below to access the show.

  • What’s Korean Cinema? 13 – Chilsu And Mansu & Nowhere To Hide

What do you get when pairing up movies where the still and straightforward is mindblowing and when the rabid, perfectly indulgent is also mindblowing? Am not sure but you get enough reason for the crew here at What’s Korean Cinema? to examine two classic works, starting with Park Kwang-su’s 1988 drama Chilsu And Mansu and in the second half, Lee Myung-se’s 1999 hyper-stylized hunt for an assassin Nowhere To Hide is covered. Connection between the movies you ask? Well if you did, here’s the answer, the male leads are the same. Click image or link below to access the show!
