Because we had fun discussing colourful Wuxia pian last time (when The Ghost Hill was reviewed), we jump ahead a decade to Night Orchid by Chang Peng-yi, starring Adam Cheng and Brigitte Lin. Memorable color for the genre? We’ll see. Also, we get very sparse feedback regardless of the show on the network but when a listener request is put forth towards Taiwan Noir… a specialized, niche show, we listen. Andrew in California wrote in and told us of a movie that kind of scared him as a child. Through surreal scenes, spooky sound design, eerie music but largely, we’re also dealing with a kung fu movie here with hopefully, because it is called that, The Greatest Plot. Taiwan cinema mixing it up: Supernatural, comedic shenanigans, a little bit of heart, martial arts and gunplay.

It’s time Taiwan Noir took a step back to Taiwan cinema swordplay or Wuxia pian. They had some juice, some fuel that could stack up with what Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest were doing despite being the little kid in terms of size of industry and maybe even means. So Kenny B and Todd Stadtman therefore talk Ting Shan-hsi’s The Ghost Hill and Chen Hung-min’s The Fly Dragon Mountain for this episode. Click image or link below to access the show!

Taiwan Noir 14: Challenge Of The Lady Ninja & A Life Of Ninja
For this series, we aim to go through the different phases at IFD, from the phase were ninjas were popular, to ones where they tried out kickboxing tint to their cut and paste movies and created their own superhero etc but for episode 2 we’ll stay in ninja territory to give you all yet another aural examination of cut and paste ninja action fun. Fun that is enhanced by the fact that paired up with the IFD footage are genres hardly associated with ninja action: horror and melodrama. So therefore we are discussing Diamond Ninja Force and Ninja Commandments for this episode. With Kenny B and Ed Glaser, the owner and president of Neon Harbour and director of Ninja The Mission Force. Click image or link below to access the show!
The Golden Ninja Podcast 2: Diamond Ninja Force & Ninja Commandments
Not one little instance of animal cruelty but a megaton of it. William Cheung’s classic snake terror-movie reviewed. Go Taiwan!

Video removed since Vimeo (who allow tags involving sexually suggestive content) removed my account. Despite no nudity in any reviews of Category III movies, it’s not worth the headache to repost old and new reviews on another service. Original posts in the Past Sleaze and Sleazy K’s Video Reviews-categories will remain as they do link to the written review but video content will be removed and any future Category III related reviews won’t have an accompanying video review.
A trio of Cat III stories, two of which has madman Chu Yen-ping’s signature. Barely partially valid but you will go WTF and ‘huh?’
